TEAMS AND RUNNERS
- Limited to 20 teams
- A minimum of 5 runners, and a maximum of 10 runners, per team
- Teams must choose their own name
- Teams must have one designated team captain
- Teams are responsible for their own support and aid along the way, including liquids, food, navigation, and
anything else to keep their runners going
- A maximum of three support vehicles per team allowed on the route
- Each runner is required to run a minimum of one leg each day of the Relay
- Teams determine who runs which leg. Each team must complete all the designated legs
- Once a runner begins a leg, he/she must complete it. If a runner cannot complete a leg
for whatever legitimate reason (e.g., medical condition), then another runner from the team must complete their leg
- Teams must run the legs in succession(i.e., one at a time), not two or more at a time (concomitantly)
THE RELAY COURSE AND ITS LEGS
- Teams begin and finish at the same point each day
- Each leg of the relay will be described and mapped out beforehand
- Detailed descriptions and maps of the legs will be distributed to each runner
- 95% of the legs are either dirt road or two track
- Legs range from 3-7 miles long
OVERNIGHT STOPS
- Ample lodging is available the night before the race, including Bozeman and Three Forks
- For the first two overnight stops along the course, teams can either camp or stay in lodging in nearby towns;
teams are responsible for their own meals
- The last night barbecue is at Hellroaring Creek (where run ends, not at Henry's Lake)
WHO WINS?
- The winner of the relay is the team that has complied with all rules above, and has the fastest cumulative time over three days
- After each day of the relay, teams will be apprised of their time and place in the competition
