The Fourth Annual Gallatin Gallop Snowshoe Race
January 18th, 2009

In 2009, the Gallatin Gallop will be held as a "Fun Run", as part of the Big Sky Wind Drinkers winter calendar of events. This year's event will be held on January 18th, 2009, in the Brackett Creek area (about 1-2 miles north of Bohart Ranch). Take Bridger Canyon Road (MT Highway 86) to the intersection with Brackett Creek Road (if you go up to or over Battle Ridge Pass, you've gone too far!) - there's a large parking lot on your right, at the northern terminus of the Bangtail Divide trail; meet here at 11 AM. The event will be held on the west side of MT 86, in the Middle Fork drainage of Brackett Creek.

This event will be very low-key - just come out with a pair of snowshoes and run!

To replace the USSSA Regional Qualifier competition the Gallatin Gallop hosted the past three years, Homestake Lodge, on Homestake Pass between Bozeman and Butte, will be hosting the inaugural Montana Snowshoe Championships on January 31, 2009. We encourage everyone to come out and try snowshoe racing at the Gallatin Gallop, and use it as a trial to prepare for the Homestake race! Hope to see you there!
