If you're new to snowshoeing, consider attending a local clinic or going on a day trip with a local group, as a way to try it out! See the next section for other Bozeman-area activities that might be fun to get involved with!

Other Snowshoe Events

Winter Trails Day is a nationwide campaign to introduce new enthusiasts to winter trail sports like snowshoeing and Nordic skiing. You can try these sports out for free, or at a nominal cost, at several winter sports areas. Bohart Ranch is offering free snowshoe demos (on a first-come, first-served basis) during their Montana Import Group Subaru Nordic Fest on January 6^th. Reservations are required, beginning January 2^nd. At this time, we're not sure if Lone Mountain Ranch will be hosting a Winter Trails Day event - you can check with them at 995-4644.

Outdoor groups, such as the Sierra Club and Montana Wilderness Association, often lead local snowshoe trips. Montana State University's Outdoor Recreation usually holds a couple of snowshoe outings in the local area.
